What motivated you to prepare for IIT?

The very first thing that comes to one’s mind is that “why am I even working towards making such a bold decision that would take up at least two years of my time?”

I would like to clarify here that in the very initial stages of selecting for the IIT JEE and preparing for the same, I was rather confused about the fact that is it really worth all the hype and effort. But then. As time passed, things started becoming clearer and finally the understanding dawned upon me that in today’s date of cutthroat competition, it is better to stay ahead of the curve. And to do that, it is better to endure a certain amount of pain and go through the process without questioning.

A lot of students often fell that all this hard work and such difficult preparation just for entering an engineering college in the country doesn’t really count. Students often feel low during such long-term preparations for something which one might not even be able to complete in the first attempt.

But, it is suggested for any IIT aspirant to throw away such negative thoughts and make way for positivity. Staying positive is all about thinking on the positive aspects of the things and opportunities that will come one’s way when all this hardship is over.

So, let me share with you the secrets to what motivated me to prepare for IIT

The very first thing is Positive Self-Affirmation- This means that whenever you get stuck trying to solve a problem, do not feel demotivated. Rather, find other possible ways to solve the problem. If that doesn’t work, try looking at the problem from different perspectives instead of just giving up and saying to oneself that this problem in unsolvable. The students preparing for the IIT are going to face the same kind of struggle but one needs to keep telling themselves that they cant quit. Do this by keeping all those things in mind which you might chance to lose if you don’t make it in. that should really work as a boost to your performance.

Learning from Others’ Mistakes- The best way to stay away from trouble or to steer clear of any unfavourable situation is to look at what others are doing wrong and not make the same mistakes. The students should keep in mind that they will fall down on their way to success but, what really counts is the number of times you get up and keep going, no matter what.

Self-Drive-  Another important thing to keep in mind is that a person can go a thousand miles without so much as breaking a sweat of they are doing something that they love, or something that drives them. Now, remember that you are the person to do that. Finding out one’s drive is the only one thing which will keep your flame lit and help your push forward even in times of difficulty.

Good Company-  Both positive and negative energy are infectious and it is better to keep away from negative energy at the first instance. As such the students should focus more on joining good study groups that are filled with like-minded intelligent people who believe in discussing ideas rather than mere procrastination. That really helps beyond imagination.

Keeping Daily Rewards-  Now one very important thing to set your goal for the day and make sure to achieve it when you promise it to yourself. After that, don’t forget to reward yourself with something of your choice. Making a habit out of this and keeping this practise is a proven method of keeping spirits high and it actually works.

So, stay motivated and keep motivating yourself, for we are the only people who can push ourselves to the limit without breaking and that will only be possible when we believe in ourselves.
